Elastic City commissions artists to create their own participatory walks for the public to investigate and intervene in the daily life of the city.

The book Elastic City / Prompts for Participatory Walks is a primer on, as well as a compendium of, participatory walks by more than forty artists. Elastic City Director & Founder Todd Shalom called for a book that is true to his poetry roots while being a utility item — a handbook that works to define and elevate the participatory walk as an art form.
